$250.00Now that you know how a semi-automatic pistol operates and how to safely handle, shoot it, and have been exposed to the advantages of a Pistol Mounted Optics (PMO), learn how to maximize your performance with a PMO. This course teaches the student, through the SIG (Simple Is Good) principle of training, safety, drawing from and recovering to the holster, stance, grip, sight alignment and sight picture as it applies to a Pistol, trigger control and reloading. This course will also highlight the many benefits when shooting with a PMO. Whether learning to shoot for sport, competition, self-defense, or skill development, leave this class with the knowledge and fundamental skills to make you successful with a pistol mounted optic.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Before you attend our PMO class the student MUST know and be able to demonstrate how to safely load, fire, and unload a handgun. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering.
COURSE OUTLINE
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply safe gun handling in any environment
- Effectively fit a handgun to your own hand
- Select a holster for your personal needs
- Recognize the different action types, calibers, and ammunition
- Be familiar with the advantages of a pistol mounted optic
- Have a foundational understanding of pistol mounted optics, nomenclature, and how they work
- Safely and efficiently draw from and recover to a holster
- Apply foundational shooting techniques
- Safely and efficiently load, reload, and unload a handgun
- Safely and efficiently engage a target with the dominant hand only
EQUIPMENT LIST
- Quality functional semi-automatic pistol with PMO – Full size and compact pistols only (semi-auto center fire pistols only – revolvers or .22 caliber pistols are not allowed)
- 3 magazines
- Magazine pouch
- Dominant side, hip-mounted holster or dominant side, belt-mounted holster
- Please wear long pants with pockets and belt loops, a sturdy 1.5″ belt, closed toe shoes (no flip flops or sandals), and a crew neck (T-shirt) or button-up shirt (no low-cut neckline)
- Estimated round-count: 300 rounds pistol FMJ
